Paul, the owner and manager of Fantail Aerials, has over 25 years of domestic and international professional experience in the field of water resources engineering, including coastal, estuarine and freshwater projects.  He has a BS degree in Aerospace Engineering (Penn State, 1991) and an MS degree in Coastal and Oceanographic Engineering (University of Florida, 1994).  Paul holds an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot (sUAS) certification and is also a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida.  Paul is assisted by his son, Arman, as the visual observer, music composer and video production editor on key flights and projects.

Our namesake, the fantail, is inspired by the small, forest-dwelling New Zealand bird, a.k.a the Piwakawaka.  The fantail is a constant companion of the New Zealand woodsman, following him down miles of trail and chasing after the bugs that the woodsman stirs up during his passage.  The fantail flies in such an erratic pattern that getting a photo of it is more a matter of chance than skill.  Piwakawaka is the source of Maori legend, the totem of Tane, the Guardian of the Forest, and he prompts us to see and achieve more in ourselves than is readily apparent in our mortal form.
